Put Out the Fuse on Keystone

April – August 2013: A metal pipeline is emblazoned with the words “‘Keystone Pipeline = Fuse to the Planet’s Biggest Carbon bomb’ – NASA Scientist Dr. James Hansen.” Signs along the pipe tell the story of Alberta’s tar sands oil field and the Keystone Pipeline that links it to world markets. Obama can deny the permit for the new leg proposed across America’s heartland. Postcards hand-drawn by children and addressed to Obama are offered for people fill out and place in the kid-painted floral mailbox; we stamp and send them. Neighbors watch as wildlife stickers, representing the number of postcards sent, begin to “put out” the Keystone fuse.
